Yeah, I passed one about twenty years ago. Not so much painful on my end as stressful: need to pee, but it feels like Mount Everest crawled into your itsy bitsy tube. Eventually it feels like the entire ocean is behind it.

Sadly I worked with someone who had a medical condition giving them Kidney Stones on a regular basis... I think I've fainted.
So anyone with them definitely has my sympathy! :( (Sad)  No, I disagree!

On the plus side they said that as I'm such and old fart and this is the first one I've ever had, it's unlikely I'll have another.

Lucky you. I'm 54, had the first one at 18 and get them anywhere form every 3-6 years. The worse thing is knowing from the time the first intense pains hit it could be hours before you get any pain medication for it unless you have some percocets left over from a previous attack. With opiod addictions in the news now, I'm worried if I get another attack (last was 3 years ago) if they'll be reluctant with the morphine.

An acquaintance found them a viable way to respond so some argumentative women who were ranting about how men had no idea about the pain they go through in childbirth.  In a fine display of Scottish temperament, he got in the woman's face and declared quite firmly "I've had kidney stones!"

Oddly enough, the woman stopped talking, nodded, and conceded the point.

The day I was being ready for a sonic zapping of a my stone, a women was ahead of me for the same procedure. She was a mother and said the stones were worse then childbirth.

I've had a couple over the years.  They are unpleasant, to say the least.

My best friend got a kidney stone and it laid him out flat to the point that percocet was like candy.
